Jean, NV - The General Tire Trophylite Race Series is known for its highly competitive racing. Any driver in the field has the potential to take the victory on any given day. As they headed into the final race of the season, the Best in the Desert Henderson 250, PJ Guglielmo, Ben Abatti and Perry Coan were all within striking distance of the championship title. Guglielmo was up 8 points over Abatti who had a narrow 3 point lead over Coan in third. The three drivers all had a championship on their mind but there were seven other drivers entered for a total of 11 who were just as determined to win.

Parker, AZ - The Best In The Desert, BlueWater Desert Challenge is an intense two day event that forces drivers to push hard on a challenging course that varies from deep sand to rocky hard pack. As the laps click off, the course gets even rougher. Trophylite hosted a great BBQ and party Saturday night with a margarita bar from Azunia Tequila but aside from that, it was all business for the Trophylite teams. Decked out in special pink KC Hilites stickers to acknowledge breast cancer awareness month the entire field was in for some incredible action.

Trophylite teams put in countless hours of hard work and sacrifice to compete in the longest off-road race in the United States, Best in the Desert’s General Tire Vegas to Reno (V2R). The V2R course traverses 550 miles of varied terrain. It rises high into the mountains and navigates the many washes that cut through the lowest valleys. Like the course, teams fortunes can rise and fall during the race as well. The race winning team of Perry and Jeff Coan, Kevin Smith and Skyler Gambrell overcame everything in their path to take the victory.

Alamo, NV - Ben Abatti III had a great race at the Best in the Desert Silver State 300. He drove the first half of the race and then turned his Trophylite over to his father Ben Abatti II to complete the race. They built an insurmountable lead on the rest of the field, taking the victory by over 11 minutes. If the story ended there, most would be happy but that is not the case. The team was penalized 15 minutes for a race incident. It’s safe to assume that Casey Folks does not like to hand out penalties to his racers but the problem with most rules, they don’t weigh intent and in order to be consistent they have to be held to the letter, which is not always fair. The Abatti’s drove a great race and took the news hard when they learned of the penalty at the awards ceremony.

Henderson, NV - In a hard fought race that mirrored the level of competition seen all season in Trophylite, top three finishers PJ Jones, Brandon Hollander and Ben Abatti III battled to the very end at the BITD, Henderson 250 held outside Henderson, Nevada. The three Trophylite racers finished fifth, sixth and seventh overall in heat race two. PJ Jones charged hard to build up a slight lead of about two minutes on second place finisher Brandon Hollander who had to contend with Ben Abatti III just thirteen seconds back in third.
